Thanks so much for your patience, but with nice weather and so much to do it doesn't leave us much time for blogging! I've found some photo's I don't think I've posted yet of our trip down so I will rectify that right now Sorry folks we've been a bit busy here having fun, will update you all real soon...promise
Kay and Him Golfed yesterday...my best game so far(Brian) lunch at Golf club, wind storm last night( which also picked up the sand everything is full of dust),our trailer was a rockin'and you could have come a knockin!!!
Shuffled this morning, grocery shopped back home just in time to get ready to go to Spaghetti dinner/dance night.Tomorrow night is country and western dance night in the ballroom, sunday we are playing 18 holes and walking the golf course. Gotta dash and get ready chat soon. Kay and Him ... This is just a quick post tonight just to let you all know we are connected to the internet,at last. We are enjoying some warm weather temp today was 22 and lovely sunshine.I went swimming this am while Him went to Shuffleboard, this afternoon we went to the driving range to warm up our golf swings as we are golfing tomorrow!!!
OK everyone will chat longer next time...K Left Helena drove through slushy mountain passes and arrived at Ogden Utah at 4:15.Colder here than Helena. Had both electric heaters going full blast all night AND heating pad in bed!
Awoke this morning to snow, just enough to cover the truck temp minus 14 but it sure felt colder.Continued to travel south on I15 Salt Lake city race way,5 lanes in each direction. At Provo south of Salt Lake it went down to minus 23,we proceeded through the passes climbing up over "the summit" 6,600 ft elevation. Lots of snow this year but it sure looked pretty. Crossed the tip of Arizona and started to loose elevation temp plus 6 crossed into Nevada dropped 4000 ft now at 2000 ft and temp went up to plus 11 and no snow! We are settled in the RV campsite for the night in Mesquite and Him said he would take me out for supper...So here we are chatting to you from McDonalds! Seriously we are here for the WI-FI, Onto to Yuma tomorrow and the last leg of our journey down. Didn't take any pics today but I knitted and slept!!!!!He said it was lovely and quiet...Posting pics from yesterday. Chat soon Kay and Him We were off bright and early temp was minus 3 quite mild considering what we have had. We were enjoying the sunrise when the phone in the truck rang it was Charles' brother calling from Yuma wondering how far along the highway we were, and to invite us for supper when we arrive on Sunday...wasn't that nice?
The sun was very welcoming as we drove along the highway south heading toward the U.S. border. "Him" is still not used to this winter travelling he just said' I wonder what's wrong with all these dead looking trees...' laughing at himself he said' Der of course they look dead they are sleeping for the winter !!!" :-) Arrived at border just two vehicles and us,went through lickety split, the officer asked if we had more than $50,000 or guns with us,we replied with"No only two apples and 6 bananas"...she smiled and said we were fine go go through! We arrived at Helena Lincoln Park Rd campsite at 3:45 after a pleasant drive, scenery just as awesome as last year(maybe we should see this in the summertime too?) A lot colder than last year but we have both heaters on full blast, just had supper of lasagna and salad(note to self, remember to pack the soup next year!!!) Will be getting an early night if only to snuggle up ! Kay and Him who's washing up(some things never change He say's!)... |
